Renting a scooter in Bali without handing over your passport

Your passport stays with you. We photograph it at handover and record the number in the rental agreement; you leave a security deposit instead.

Deposit and return

The standard deposit is Rp 1.000.000, unless the bike's card shows a different amount. You pay it at handover, in cash or by bank transfer agreed beforehand. We don't accept cards.

At the end of the rental, we check the bike together and return the deposit, minus any agreed charges. If we keep part of it, we explain the amount and reason.

The bike has no damage or theft insurance. We record existing marks at handover and tell you the repair cost for new damage before work starts. The rental terms explain damage, fines and other charges.

What happens to my document photos?

We photograph your passport and licence and keep the photos in our booking chat with you as the record of the rental. We don't share them with anyone. This is covered by the “Your documents” clause in the agreement.

Keeping your passport does not mean renting without identification. We still record your details and need to see the documents required for the rental.

At handover

We bring the scooter to the agreed address and check it with you. Existing marks are photographed and recorded in the agreement before you sign.

We record your passport and licence details, phone number and local address. You pay for the rental in Indonesian rupiah, by cash, bank transfer or QRIS, and leave the deposit. Then you receive the keys, the agreed helmets and the bike's registration details. Your original documents stay with you.

Tell us helmet sizes before delivery. A raincoat is available on request.
